IBS was founded in 1972 by Piet Hopman, Siem Mors and Jan Wulp in Egmond-Binnen. IBS later moved to Akersloot. In 1995, John Groot took over the shares completely.
When his sons Ruud and Jeroen Groot joined the company in 2008, IBS underwent a major metamorphosis. Business processes were fully automated. The flower trade is dynamic and constantly demands innovation. That is why optimisation is a never-ending process for us.
In 2012, IBS moved to the heart of the international flower trade: Royal FloraHolland, the Aalsmeer flower auction. Our location is directly connected to the auction. Carts of freshly purchased flowers enter our facility via a rail system.
Every day, we supply fresh, high-quality cut flowers to wholesalers and specialist retailers in Europe. For our customers, we are more than just a supplier of quality flowers. Our service goes beyond an effortless order and hassle-free delivery.
We believe in long-term customer relations by actively thinking along and being flexible. Thinking creatively with our customer is just as important to us. Does a customer have a special wish that the market does not offer? We solve it. An overdue order still has to be loaded onto the truck? We take care of it.
IBS is a real family business. This can be felt through the mutual commitment and the good atmosphere. Our team consists of about 25 people. We work hard, laugh a lot and make sure the job gets done every day. On time, of course. We do this together. If necessary, owners Ruud and Jeroen prepare the trolleys for export or load our trucks. Hierarchy is not something we do. Everyone is equal.
We export to Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, England, Ireland and Scotland and the Nordic countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Wholesalers and garden centres such as Blumen Kiel (Rastede), Blumen Ostmann (Visbek), Buhk Blumen (Hamburg), Dirk Schröder (Bremen), Gärtnerei Lameyer (Varel) and Wilhelm Peters (Hamburg) have been among our customers for more than 40 years.
